En esta ocasión dedicamos un espacio a la historia de una mujer muy interesante y atrevida que se rebeló contra la tradición.
Coco Chanel se propuso decir al mundo que la mujer no está solo para agradar al hombre y lucir lo que los modistos más afamados estimaban oportuno. Demostró que la mujer podía ser no solo fuente de inspiración para los grandes modistos, sino que también son capaces de crear.
Coco Chanel fue la diseñadora que revolucionó la moda francesa.
Las bases de la moda moderna: “El gran mérito de Coco»
El gran mérito de Coco fue tener la capacidad y la gran habilidad de cambiar de un modo radical la apariencia de la mujer a la misma vez que coloca los pilares sobre los que se asienta la moda moderna. Todo ello sirvió para transformar la mentalidad de la mujer de su época.
Hay que agradecer a la gran diseñadora su defensa por los trajes de chaqueta y sus, hasta entonces, masculinos y funcionales pantalones y jerseys de punto, a la vez que su afán por imponer una forma de vestir más cómoda.
Su niñez
Coco nació en un pueblo humilde de Francia en 1883. Su niñez está marcada por la pérdida de su madre y porque su padre la abandonó en un orfanato agobiado por su situación económica. Dadas las circunstancias, Coco fue educada por monjas.
Camino de la revolución
A tenor de las versiones sobre su vida, se desprende que Coco abandonó el convento a los 17 años para dedicarse al cabaret. Tuvo un rico amante, llamado Etienne Balsan, lo que le permitió abandonar el cabaret para abrir su primera tienda en 1913: una sombrerería con la que tuvo un gran éxito y la animó para inaugurar su primer taller de costura, en donde dio sus primeros pasos para revolucionar la moda femenina.
La mujer del siglo XX
Coco odiaba la moda de los corsés y las estrecheces y perseveró hasta inventar un estilo que caracterizó a la mujer siglo XX, trabajadora, independiente y emancipada, que exige prendas cómodas para acudir al trabajo, es decir, un vestuario que satisface su sentido de la elegancia sin dejar de ser ella misma.
La leyenda de Chanel
El perfil Chanel era muy claro: ropa sport, camisas blancas de líneas rectas, pelo corto, trajes de chaquetas, el color negro y jerséis masculinos adaptados a la mujer. Chanel se convirtió en inspiración y la sociedad lo aceptó muy rápido e hizo suya dicha moda.
Una vida agitada
Su vida fue salpicada negativamente por su romance con un oficial nazi, por lo que se vió obligada a exiliarse en Suiza, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Regresó a París en 1954, donde se le perdona sus errores. Coco ya no tendría problemas para recomenzar sus actividades que de nuevo les proporciona grandes éxitos.
Fue entonces cuando Chanel ofrece al mundo las creaciones más exitosas como su traje de chaqueta Chanel. Desde entonces toda mujer de cierta relevancia social se preciaba de vestir a lo Chanel.
Su muerte
La Gran Chanel falleció en 1971 en toda su plenitud artística.
Con su muerte, sin duda, el mundo perdió a una de las grandes. No obstante, su estilo y enseñanzas aún perdura en la mente de las mujeres elegantes.
