While the predictive and adverbial adjectives are invariable, the attributive adjectives instead have to agree with the noun they accompany.<\/p>\n<p>Example<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Der Lehrer ist\u00a0<strong>gro\u00dfartig<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0Es ist das\u00a0<strong>Beste<\/strong> , was ich seit Beginn meines Studiums hatte<br \/>\nThe teacher is great.\u00a0It&#8217;s the best I&#8217;ve had since I started my studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Juan ist ein ausgezeichneter\u00a0<strong>Freund<\/strong>\u00a0, der\u00a0<strong>Beste<\/strong> der Bande.<br \/>\nJuan is an excellent friend, the best of the gang.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"and\">Predicative and adverbial adjectives<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Predicative and adverbial adjectives are immutable<\/strong>. We speak of a predicative adjective when the immutable adjective comes after the verbs sein \/ haben \/ werden.\u00a0 Attributive adjectives are placed between the article and the noun and adapt their form to the noun.<\/p>\n<h3>Predicative<\/h3>\n<p>This type always remains the same in its form, whether the noun is masculine, feminine, or neuter.\u00a0<strong>It is not declined<\/strong>, because if the adjective belongs to the verb, it has no end. We call these adjectives &#8220;to be \/ to stay \/ to become&#8221; after the verbs.<\/p>\n<p>Examples<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Das M\u00e4dchen bleibt ruhig.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The girl remains calm.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter hat Hunger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Peter is hungry.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Das Auto f\u00e4hrt schnell.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The car goes fast.<\/p>\n<p>This type\u00a0<strong>always remains the same<\/strong> in its form, whether the noun is masculine, feminine, or neuter. It is also not declined because the adjective belongs to the verb here, so it has no end. We name adjectives after other verbs (except to be \/ to stay \/ to become).<\/p>\n<p>For instance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Das Auto f\u00e4hrt schnell.<br \/>\nThe car goes fast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Der Sch\u00fcler lernt langsam die deutsche Sprache.<br \/>\nThe student learns the German language slowly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Alex spielt gut Gitarre.<br \/>\nAlex plays the guitar well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter rennt schnell.<br \/>\nPeter runs fast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Adverbial adjectives<\/h3>\n<p>They appear after\u00a0<strong>verbs other than sein \/ bleiben \/ werden<\/strong>, and serve as a predicative complement;\u00a0that is, they refer to the verb and not to the subject noun.<\/p>\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Der Clown springt lustig herum.<br \/>\nThe clown jumps happily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Attributive adjectives<\/h3>\n<p>Attributive adjectives\u00a0<strong>appear between an article and a noun<\/strong>.
