A language to learn keeps your brain in shape and increases your brain power. Also, it will increase your memory. By learning a language, you can not only speak multiple languages, but you can also do something good for your mind!

Why is it important to learn other languages?

Reasons you should learn foreign languages: more experience while traveling, chatting with native speakers, beneficial to your career, brain stays alert and healthy, foreign language skills are impressive, horizons broadened and easier emigration, better understanding their native language ..

Why is it useful to be able to speak English?

You can communicate with English almost everywhere during the holidays. Learn basic and important words that will be of great help to you when you travel. … So you can relax and focus on your vacation without having to worry about communication.

What happens in the brain when learning languages?

Recent studies have shown that all languages learned by multilingual people are active in the brain, even if not all are spoken. This leads to the fact that our brain on the one hand suppresses languages that are not spoken and on the other hand improves memory performance.

How many languages should one be able to speak?

Charlotte Hillig: Three foreign languages would be a lot, but ideal. So the native language plus three foreign languages. Two foreign languages, if spoken well, will get you very far. If you can add a third language, then you are really in a very good position.

But why is learning languages so important ?

Foreign languages are beneficial for a career. The multilingual applicant always have more chances of getting a good job. Especially due to the globalization and internationalization of German companies, foreign language skills are incredibly useful.

More and more companies are expanding abroad and sometimes have many clients there. English is no longer considered a foreign language in Spain, but it is actually essential for a career.

Learning languages keeps your brain busy and the older we get, the less we do the tasks that really require us to think. But the brain is like a muscle that must be constantly trained not to loosen.

If you learn languages well into old age, you keep your brain busy and age more slowly. In a study on multilingualism and dementia, it was discovered who is multilingual that memory weakness begins on average 3-4 years later.

You get sick less often . Multilingual people reduce the likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia in old age. In a research project on multilingualism and Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease occurred on average 4.3 years later in multilingual test subjects than in monolingual test subjects.

The foreign language skills are impressive. You impress your peers when you speak one or more foreign languages fluently (the more there are, the more impressive, of course).

Foreign languages broaden your horizons. With each new language you learn, you broaden your horizons and learn about a different culture. It’s a lot of fun and helps your personal development.

Knowledge of foreign languages improves knowledge of the native language

By learning and analyzing the grammatical structures of a foreign language, these will be clearer to you, including Spanish. Only when we learn a new language can we properly appreciate and assess the roots and foundations of our native language.

Because we grew up with our native language. Without thinking too much about how sentence structures work or breaking down the accents of each syllable.

Learning a foreign language only improves grammar, reading, vocabulary, and language skills.

Learning languages promotes other skills, like math.

A significant study of this was conducted in Massachusetts in 2007, where the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages stated the following:

“Children who learn a foreign language, even if this language study takes time away from studying mathematics, outnumber students who do not learn a foreign language and who have more math lessons during the school day.”

Meet new people and cultures

With each new language you also learn something (or a lot) about the people and culture of the country or countries where it is spoken.

Also, language exchanges and language meetings are great for meeting new people and exchanging ideas with them. This not only improves your language skills, but also your social life.

<div class="kk-star-ratings kksr-auto kksr-align-left kksr-valign-bottom"
