It is a perfect present.<\/p>\n<p>The answer is that they\u00a0<i>both\u00a0<\/i><strong>have the same meaning when we want to express possession of something<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0And yes, they are very often interchangeable.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"questions\">Different questions and negative forms<\/h2>\n<p>Special care must be taken with its use in a negative way.\u00a0Surely on occasion we have seen written &#8220;I haven&#8217;t a car&#8221;, well, this is incorrect.\u00a0<strong>Let&#8217;s see how negative sentences are constructed:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>With have got we do not use auxiliary verbs such as do (do) and not do (don&#8217;t)<\/li>\n<li>Have only exists in the simple present.\u00a0We do not use it in continuous, past or future tense.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Simple present tense: He&#8217;s got a problem.<\/li>\n<li>Simple past: He had a problem<\/li>\n<li>Simple future: He&#8217;ll have a problem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"have\">When I can&#8217;t use &#8220;we have&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>In some other languages \u200b\u200b(like Spanish or German, for example) questions can be formed using only the main verb (that is, no auxiliary verb).\u00a0In English, this is generally not possible.\u00a0<strong>In case an auxiliary verb is already present, it must be used<\/strong>\u00a0(it would be &#8221;\u00a0<em>have&#8221; in case of &#8220;have got&#8221;<\/em> (tener en caso de tener)<\/p>\n<p><strong>When\u00a0<em>have<\/em>\u00a0is a substitute word for another verb, we cannot interchange it<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0For example, instead of taking a shower, we sometimes say to take a shower, or instead of having lunch we say let&#8217;s have lunch.\u00a0Let&#8217;s see:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Almuerzo a las 12 en punto. (<em>I have lunch at 12 o\u2019clock<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Tengo almuerzo \u00a0(I\u2019ve got lunch)<\/li>\n<li>Yo tomo un ba\u00f1o todos los d\u00edas.
