Sometimes you use it instead of such and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>But the best thing is that you do not panic, because you are not the only one.\u00a0In this regard, we can tell you that in English classes there are regularly students who also invert them because both \u201cso\u201d and \u201csuch\u201d are translated as so, but they are used in a very different way, which causes many headaches for students of English.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"so\"><strong>The structures for so and such<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>So: noun + so + adjective<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The day is so cold (that*) we can\u2019t go skating.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Es un d\u00eda tan fr\u00edo que no podemos ir a patinar).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>My flat is so clean (that*) you could eat on the floor.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Mi piso est\u00e1 tan limpio que podr\u00edas comer en el suelo).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>She was so angry with him that she didn\u2019t talk to him for a whole week.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Estaba tan enojada con \u00e9l que no habl\u00f3 con \u00e9l durante toda una semana).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>This book is so interesting that I can\u2019t put it down for a minute.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Este libro es tan interesante que no puedo dejarlo ni un minuto)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>so + adverb + (that) + clause<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>We use\u00a0<strong>so<\/strong>\u00a0followed by adverbs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The man spoke so quickly that I couldn\u2019t quite understand what he was saying.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(El hombre habl\u00f3 tan r\u00e1pido que no pude entender muy bien lo que estaba diciendo).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>That guy was driving so fast that he lost control when trying to turn.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Ese tipo conduc\u00eda tan r\u00e1pido que perdi\u00f3 el control al intentar girar).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>so + few\/many\/little\/much + noun + (that) + clause<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We use\u00a0<strong>so<\/strong>\u00a0followed by a noun only when we use the quantifiers few \/ many \/ little \/ much:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>There were so few people that the place seemed almost empty.\u00a0<\/em><em>(countable noun)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hab\u00eda tan poca gente que el lugar parec\u00eda casi vac\u00edo. (sustantivo cuantificable)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>There were so many people that I found it difficult to breathe.\u00a0<\/em><em>(countable noun).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Hab\u00eda tanta gente que me costaba respirar. (sustantivo incontable)).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The tsunami had caused so much damage that the city had to be rebuil.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(El tsunami ha causado tantos da\u00f1os que la ciudad tiene que ser reconstruida).<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"such\"><strong>Structures for such:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>pronoun + such + article + adjective + noun<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>It\u2019s such a good movie (that*) I saw it twice.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Es una pel\u00edcula tan buena que la vi dos veces).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>They\u2019re such a nice family (that*) I spent Christmas with them.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Son una familia tan maja que pas\u00e9 la Navidad con ellos).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>such + (adjective) + uncountable\/plural noun + (that) + clause<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We use such with uncountable or plural nouns:<\/p>\n<p>(plural noun)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>here are such bad politicians in Suede that the country is now facing a deep crisis.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Aqu\u00ed hay pol\u00edticos tan malos en Suecia que el pa\u00eds se enfrenta ahora a una profunda crisis.)<\/p>\n<p>(uncountable noun)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>He felt such guilt for what he\u2019d done that he ended up committing suicide<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Se sinti\u00f3 tan culpable por lo que hab\u00eda hecho que termin\u00f3 suicid\u00e1ndose).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>We use such a lot of with uncountable or plural nouns:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Some people have such a lot of money that they could afford to buy a different car every day.\u00a0<\/em><em>(uncountable noun)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Algunas personas tienen tanto dinero que podr\u00edan permitirse comprar un autom\u00f3vil diferente todos los d\u00edas.
